101 Things in 1,001 Days, Master List
May 28th, 2008My second attempt at completing 101 things in 1,001 days will begin today, on my 30th birthday, and end on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. I’ll keep a running tally on the sidebar of my blog, but here’s the master list:
- Run a 10K
- Run a half marathon
- Run a marathon
- Buy an elliptical
- Join an adult roller or ice hockey league
- Join an adult soccer league
Outdoors
- Finish fifteen hikes in AZ (or a state that borders AZ)
- Go backcountry camping
- Hike the Grand Canyon
- Hike part of either the Appalachian Trail or the West Coast Trail
- Take Max camping
Health
- Drop a few pounds (180 lbs or less)
- Count every calorie I consume for one full month
- Get rid of the bad plastics in my house
- Quit soda for six full months in a row
- Quit fried foods for six full months in a row
- Eat at home for one full month
Food
- Make at least twenty-five curries from Raghavan Iyer’s 660 Curries: The Gateway to Indian Cooking
- Purchase an entire (slaughtered) pig or cow (it’s OK to go in with another family)
- Sign up for a CSA in Phoenix or Tempe
- Buy a pasta attachment for the Kitchenaid
- Make stained glass pasta
- Post a list of thirty staple dinners
- Master BBQing ribs
- Make sausage
- Find a source for raw milk (or cheese made of raw milk)
- Cook with ten ingredients I’ve never used before
- Perfect my personal recipe for a Cuban sandwich
- Collect my 100 favorite recipes
- Buy a bushel of New Mexico green chile
- Make sourdough starter
- Recreate the salad dressing served at Outback Pizza in Taos
Embrace my Midlife Crisis
- Take a motorcycle safety course
- Obtain a motorcycle endorsement for my license
- Buy a motorcycle
- Start a savings account for a jacuzzi
- Start a savings account for a trip to the Greek Islands

Establish Traditions
