My second attempt at completing 101 things in 1,001 days will begin today, on my 30th birthday, and end on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. I’ll keep a running tally on the sidebar of my blog, but here’s the master list:
More often than not, it is entirely appropriate to hand out a douche card rather than a business card.

I can’t tell you how delicious Raghavan Iyer’s Cashew Chicken with Cilantro Sauce sounds; I’m going to add some yogurt to the recipe and try it next week.
If you haven’t heard of Raghavan Iyer, he’s the current darling of the new-media food world. I first heard him on either The Splendid Table or KCRW’s Good Food, and it was immediately apparent why he won IACP’s Cooking Teacher of the Year award in 2004. You can pick up his new book, 660 Curries: The Gateway to Indian Cooking, at Amazon, but visit your local Costco if you’d like to save a few bucks. Also, buy a churro.
The first thing Max wanted to do when he woke up was draw an elephant; good thing I bought him a few rolls of paper for his birthday. I suspect he inherited his artistic abilities from me.

For your gaming platform of choice, check out this offering from Penny Arcade! I’ve downloaded the mac demo, but I suspect I’ll purchase the XBox Live Arcade version.
Quite a while ago, I posted a list of 101 things to do in 1,001 days. I can no longer find the list, but I’ll bet I completed between 25 and 35 percent of the items. Not a great success rate, but it led to some accomplishments nevertheless. I now can grill shrimp perfectly and run more than a mile without fainting and falling onto the sidewalk.
I’m turning 30 in a week and a half, so I’m writing another list of 101 things. Part of me wants to take the next decade to complete these things, but I’ll follow the rules and try to finish in 1,001 days.
I’ll be writing the new list over the next few days and updating it to the sidebar once it’s finished. If you have any suggestions, let me know!
I spent the day packing up a UHaul and sweating profusely. I started off the day with a giant soda, but after an hour or two of heavy lifting, switched to ice water. It was delicious. The key to drinking more water and less soda, I think, is to pack a lot of hard, physical activity into my day. I bet if I begin working out first thing in the morning, I’ll crave ice water the entire day.
Obviously, I’ve relapsed into soda drinking. I’ll cut back again. I’ve also let my diet slip. Over the last few weeks, I’ve eaten more red chile beef breakfast burritos than any human being should. When I move, I’ll be stocking my fridge from scratch. I think I’m going to spend the next month or so regulating my diet carefully. If you haven’t taken a look at the government’s food pyramid site, you may want to give it a whirl. It’s a pretty decent resource on nutrition and healthful living.
I desire a home elliptical machine…if I worked out on an elliptical every time I played XBox 360, I’d never have to worry about diet or fitness.
This is the greatest coffee table I have ever seen. I’m very glad my 30th birthday is in 19 short days (May 28, bitches!) — I’m begging someone to make me a table like this. And, IT WORKS:
